As a result of our human tendencies, it can be hard to believe we can achieve things that are beyond what we can plainly see. We often consider our desires as dreams—potentially attainable, but not likely. The human perspective is sight, but the God perspective is vision. Thankfully, God gifted us with a spirit, and through the Spirit, we receive vision.
Vision is God’s will, while sight reflects our wants. Sight can be disappointing, but vision is delightful, destined, and divine. Vision is a purposeful promise, and it is worth the wait because God knows our needs.
Vision requires trust in God and faith in the favor He has placed over your life. Hebrews 11:1 emphasizes that faith is the confidence in things unseen. We must have confidence in God’s vision for our lives and be patient as we wait for it to manifest. God will not bless us with anything prematurely, as it could become a curse if we are not fully developed in spirit and character. As believers, we must trust God’s will and His perfect timing.
Habakkuk 2:3 (NLT)
“This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed."
How to Focus on God’s Vision:
Erase your expectations.
Listen more than you speak.
Surrender, then seek guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Stop praying for your wants in hopes that God will include them in His will.
Rest in knowing that if God does not answer a prayer, it is because He cares about you and knows that sometimes our desires could lead to our destruction.
